The Department of the Navy, NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support Mechanicsburg, is soliciting proposals for a compartment salvage ball valve used in crucial shipboard systems. Contractors must manufacture and deliver the specialized ball valve in accordance with NAVSHIPS Drawing 4558705 Assembly B and all associated engineering specifications. Because the valve is designated as special emphasis material to prevent critical system failures, the acquisition requires strict material certifications, chemical and mechanical analyses, and extensive non-destructive testing. The government will evaluate offers based on past performance, and any resulting contract will be a bilateral, DO-rated order set aside entirely for small businesses.
