The Department of the Navy, NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support, is procuring continuous thread studs under a combined solicitation. Qualified vendors must manufacture and deliver fasteners that meet rigorous MIL-DTL-1222 specifications and are designated as Special Emphasis material for critical shipboard systems. Because of this high-safety designation, the procurement enforces strict material traceability, heat treatment requirements in accordance with QQ-N-286, and mandatory non-destructive testing including liquid penetrant inspections. Quality assurance activities will be performed at the source by the Defense Contract Management Agency, and final deliveries of all materials must be completed on or before 365 days after the effective date of the contract.
