Contract Opportunity Analysis
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Erie VA Medical Center, is seeking sources for a brand-name-or-equal requirement for BCMA barcode scanners to support its electronic health record modernization effort. The scope calls for 80 Honeywell-based Xenon Ultra 1960H corded USB scanners and 5 Honeywell-based 1962HHD Ultra Cordless scanners, or approved equivalents, delivered ready for clinical use. The scanners must be Cerner validated, disinfectant-ready, pre-programmed to VA BCMA defaults, able to read 1D and 2D barcodes, include a patient-friendly aimer, carry a minimum three-year warranty, and for cordless units meet FIPS 140-2 or 140-3 wireless requirements.
