The National Cancer Institute is soliciting proposals from small business concerns for the Small Business Innovation Research Innovative Concept Phase I Award Program. Awardees will perform research and development to demonstrate the proof-of-concept and feasibility of untested, potentially transformative technologies addressing pediatric and rare cancers. The scope is divided into therapeutic or preventative technologies under Topic 1, and devices, diagnostics, or digital health tools under Topic 2. No preliminary data or non-exempt human subjects research is required, but the work must be performed in the United States over a 12-month period and include participation in the NIH I-Corps entrepreneurial training program. Proposals must be submitted electronically through the eCPS portal by September 21, 2026, for awards offering up to $300,000 in funding.
