49 FSS Dining Facility Commercial Freezer

This document provides a Questions and Answers (Q&A) clarification for a federal solicitation regarding the acquisition and installation of a walk-in freezer at the Shifting Sands Dining Facility at Holloman Air Force Base. The vendor's scope of work includes comprehensive site preparation, specifically constructing a concrete slab foundation, as well as providing all unloading equipment, physical installation, refrigeration piping, and electrical commissioning. The base's Civil Engineering (CE) department will only be responsible for providing the power source and final electrical hookup. The walk-in freezer must have interior dimensions of 10' x 16' x 8'6", with a door on the 10-foot wall. It must feature three-phase electrical refrigeration, a temperature monitoring device, and aluminum diamond treadplate on the floor, lower walls, and door interior to accommodate pallet jacks and hand trucks. The condensing unit will be connected to the freezer, located approximately 60 feet away. Delivery and installation should occur as soon as possible during normal business hours. Base access is required for personnel, which can be sponsored by dining facility staff with a 24-hour advance request. Preferred reference brands include Thermalrite, Amerikooler, Norlake, and Masterbilt.
