The Department of the Navy, NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support Mechanicsburg, is seeking to procure self-locking hexagon nuts (Part Number MS17828-18C) for use in critical shipboard systems. Contractors must manufacture and deliver these fasteners in accordance with NASM25027, maintaining complete traceability and providing quantitative chemical and mechanical analyses of materials. Because this is designated as special emphasis, Level I/Scope of Certification material, stringent requirements apply, including Level I Joint Source Certification, First Article Testing, and government source inspection. Final delivery of the material must be completed on or before 365 days after the contract's effective date, with certification data submitted to Portsmouth Naval Shipyard via Wide Area Workflow at least 20 days prior to delivery.
