The General Services Administration, on behalf of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District, is soliciting bids for the one-time, lump-sum sale and removal of government-owned scrap metal. The purchaser is required to remove an estimated 300+ long tons of mixed ferrous and non-ferrous scrap, including plate and structural steel, aluminum, and fabricated components, from the waterfront facility in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. While government personnel will load the scrap, the purchaser must provide all necessary hopper barges, tug services, marine transportation, labor, and equipment, noting that the heaviest individual piece is estimated at 35 tons and the longest at 62 feet.
