Gila National Forest Motor Grader Shoulder Retriever
Contract Opportunity Analysis
The USDA Forest Service’s Gila National Forest is seeking a small-business set-aside procurement for one motor grader shoulder retriever to support road maintenance on National Forest System roads. The work is to provide a new, unused, current-production unit that hydraulically operates from inside the cab and is used to clean drainages and pull surfacing materials back onto the roadway for blading. The equipment must be compatible with Caterpillar 140 and 150 motor graders and meet salient characteristics including a heavy-duty frame, minimum 8-disk configuration, specified offset and width, and the required mounting hardware and hydraulic hoses without structural modifications to the grader; award will be based on technical acceptability, price, and past performance as the lowest-priced technically acceptable offer. Delivery is required to Silver City, New Mexico, by October 15, 2026, and questions were due to Michael Simpson at michael.simpson@usda.gov by June 1, 2026, with offers due June 5, 2026, at 1700 CT.
