The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, under the Department of Defense, is planning a small-business-set-aside procurement for replacement of siding and windows at the USACE Field Research Facility in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. The work is a full exterior building envelope renovation that includes replacement of siding, soffit and trim, hurricane-rated windows, exterior commercial doors, an exterior staircase, and light fixtures, along with exterior and interior painting, demolition, disposal, and site restoration. The contractor is expected to be regularly engaged in siding and window installation, licensed by the North Carolina Licensing Board for General Contractors, and capable of coastal and hurricane-resistant construction, with award based on a lowest-price technically acceptable evaluation. Work must begin within 10 days after notice to proceed and finish within 90 calendar days, and the estimated construction cost is between $250,000 and $500,000. The RFQ is expected on or about 13 May 2026, with a closing date on or about 12 June 2026, a site visit scheduled for 21 May 2026 at 10:00 EST, and solicitation documents to be posted on SAM.gov.
