The U.S. Geological Survey, within the Department of the Interior, is seeking a Blanket Purchase Agreement for laboratory microplastics analysis services. The work covers environmental sample processing, extraction, and LDIR analysis, with the contractor providing all necessary facilities, labor, and materials. Key requirements include use of an Agilent 8700 Laser Direct Infrared Chemical Imaging System to detect, size, and characterize microplastics between 10 μm and 500 μm, along with strict QA/QC, field and procedural blanks, and detailed reporting. The solicitation is set aside for Women-Owned Small Businesses and Economically Disadvantaged Women-Owned Small Businesses, will be evaluated on best value with emphasis on microplastic experience, technical performance, and past performance, and includes a BPA period of performance from May 22, 2026, to May 21, 2031, with a not-to-exceed value of $100,000. Offers are due May 13, 2026, and microplastics proposals using RAMAN or micro-FTIR methods will not be accepted.
