The Department of the Air Force, through the 521 Software Squadron supporting the F-35 Joint Program Office, is pursuing a sole-source simplified acquisition for Xtreme Engineering Solutions Inc. to provide chassis for the program. The requirement is for exact part-numbered 3U VPX development platform chassis, including a 2-slot model and an 8-slot model. The acquisition is driven by the original manufacturer’s exclusive direct sales position, the lack of authorized resellers, and the government’s lack of the technical data and intellectual property needed to source the items elsewhere, with performance associated with Hill Air Force Base, Utah. Interested sources may submit a capability statement showing they can provide the exact part numbers within five business days of the notice, and award is estimated no later than 07 May 2026.
