The Department of Defense, through the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), is announcing an Industry Day for the Guided Missile Destroyer (DDG) Modernization 2.0 Depot Modernization Period (DMP) Future Acquisition Planning, scheduled for August 19-22, 2025, in Washington, DC. This event aims to engage potential contractors regarding the upcoming Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) DMP availabilities for the DDG MOD 2.0, which is set to commence in fiscal year 2029, with the first Request for Proposal (RFP) anticipated in the second quarter of fiscal year 2028. The modernization effort will significantly enhance the capabilities of the DDG 51 Class ships, incorporating advanced systems such as the SPY-6(V)4 Air and Missile Defense Radar and SLQ-32(V)7 Surface Electronic Warfare Improvement Program, while ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
