Contract Opportunity Analysis
The Air Force Research Laboratory, under the Department of the Air Force at Eglin AFB, is seeking market research for its Capstone Demonstration focused on affordable mass networked collaborative autonomous weapon salvos. The effort calls for multiple vendors to support interoperable, multi-platform cruise missile solutions and related capabilities, including launch equipment, surrogate vehicles, network communications equipment, navigation algorithms, and digital emulations and simulations for the AFRL M-Series Weapons Innovation Pipeline. Key requirements include technically mature solutions at TRL 6 or higher, Weapons Open Systems Architecture v3.7+ compliance, missiles capable of at least 350 nautical miles with datalinks, and a target unit cost below $250K, with flight events and surrogate/affordable mass demonstrations planned within 16 months of award. Responses are due April 15, 2026, and companies may or may not be notified for a potential industry day based on their submissions.
