Fire Extinguisher Hydrostatic Testing

The National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Fire Department is seeking sources capable of providing hydrostatic testing and recharge services for portable fire extinguishers at the NIST Gaithersburg, Maryland campus. The work covers 300 five-pound BC CO2 fire extinguishers and includes hydrostatic testing, replacement of seals, O-rings, and pull pins, and recharging the extinguishers. Services must comply with NFPA 10 and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.157, and the contractor must pick up the extinguishers and return them to the campus after completion.
