Building 154 Cooling Tower Media Replacement

The Department of Agriculture Agricultural Research Service is seeking proposals for the Building 154 Cooling Tower Media Replacement project at the National Centers for Animal Health in Ames, Iowa. The contractor will be required to replace PVC fill and drift eliminators across six, two-cell cooling towers, replace casing panels and structural supports with stainless steel, repair a fiberglass-reinforced plastic inner fan cylinder, and perform mechanical preventative maintenance. To maintain facility operations, the contractor must phase the work to service only one tower at a time, complete the project within 180 calendar days of the notice to proceed, and utilize installation crews with a minimum of ten years of experience as a Marley Factory Authorized Service entity. Proposals are due by July 30, 2026, with an estimated project value between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000, and inquiries may be directed to Erin Riffey at erin.riffey@usda.gov.
