Tactical Local Area Network (TACLAN) and Satellite Deployable Node (SDN) "King for a Day" Request for Information (RFI)
Contract Opportunity Analysis
U.S. Special Operations Command, within the Department of Defense, is conducting a Request for Information to gather market research for future special operations deployable communication infrastructure and modernization of tactical command-and-control networks. The effort seeks white papers and capability statements describing modular, COTS-based approaches to replace or improve legacy TACLAN and SDN systems, including architectures that integrate WAN, LAN, server compute, radio, transport, edge services, and cross-domain data flow. The government is interested in solutions that are transport-agnostic, support DDIL operations, reduce physical and electromagnetic signatures, improve automation and security, and fit within a lightweight, hardenable form factor for tactical use in Tampa, Florida. Responses must be unclassified and no more than 20 pages, and should be emailed to Chad.Skiendziel@SOCOM.mil by noon EST on 26 June 2026.
