Contract Opportunity Analysis
The Department of the Navy’s NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support is soliciting a contract for FILTER,SHAFT SEAL items for use in a crucial shipboard system, identified as SPECIAL EMPHASIS material because failure or defective material could seriously affect personnel safety and ship operations. The work requires supply of the filter in accordance with Paramatic Filter Drawing 690264 and Electric Boat Engineering Notice NM123188, along with the associated material certifications, welding and nondestructive test certifications, traceability controls, and certificate of compliance. The procurement places heavy emphasis on quality assurance and configuration control, including approved welding procedures and qualification data, radiography for specified welds, a documented quality system, and submission of certification data to Portsmouth Naval Shipyard through WAWF before shipment. Final delivery of material is due within 365 days after the effective date of the resulting contract, certification data is due 20 days before scheduled delivery, and the order is rated DO under DPAS and issued under Emergency Acquisition Flexibilities.
