Immune Mechanisms of Protection Against Mycobacterium tuberculosis Center (IMPAc-TB)
Contract Opportunity Analysis
The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at NIH, within the Department of Health and Human Services, is seeking support for the renewal of the Immune Mechanisms of Protection Against Mycobacterium tuberculosis Center (IMPAc-TB) program to advance tuberculosis vaccine development. The work will focus on characterizing tissue-specific and systemic immune responses to Mtb infection, identifying protective antigens and immune epitopes, advancing tools and resources for vaccine research, and studying the impact of HIV/SIV on Mtb immunity. The effort requires human samples and/or clinical studies, at least one animal model, and computational data integration and modeling, with optional use of organoids or other ex vivo systems; it is expected to result in two to three cost-reimbursement completion contracts with performance beginning about September 1, 2027. The BAA is expected to be available on or about June 2, 2026 on SAM.gov, and proposals must be submitted through the NIAID eCPS website rather than by email or fax.
