OA-1K Travel/Mobility Pods

This document is a combined synopsis/solicitation (Solicitation Number: W50S8T26RA022) issued by the 137th Special Operations Wing (SOW) and the 17th Special Operations Squadron (SOS) Formal Training Unit (FTU) at Will Rogers Air National Guard Base in Oklahoma. The government is seeking proposals to award a Firm Fixed Price contract for the procurement of three external carriage mobility/travel pods for the OA-1K aircraft. Because the OA-1K has limited internal storage, these external pods are required to transport personal items and mission equipment during training and temporary duty missions. To ensure aircraft airworthiness and compatibility, the pods must meet strict technical specifications. Key requirements include compatibility with BRU-71/A ejector release units (14-inch lug spacing), a maximum length of 130 inches, a minimum usable volume of 9.0 cubic feet, a cargo capacity to empty weight ratio of 1.9 or greater, and a corrosion-resistant structure. The solicitation is a full and open competition evaluated under Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) criteria. To support airworthiness certification, the contractor must deliver a comprehensive Technical Data Package (TDP) and grant the government Government Purpose Rights (GPR) or better; proposals asserting more restrictive rights may be deemed unacceptable. Emailed proposals are due by July 14, 2026, at 10:00 AM CDT. Deliverables must be shipped FOB Destination within 60 days of the contract award. Offerors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) to be eligible for the award.
