Contract Opportunity Analysis

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 6, is conducting market research to identify qualified sources to provide human leukocyte antigen testing and courier services for the Richmond VA Medical Center. The selected contractor must perform laboratory services including processing and analysis of specimens, low and high resolution typing, flow cytometric crossmatches, antibody panels, sample storage, and clinical consultations, while also providing secure courier transport of samples from the Richmond facility. Eligible laboratories must hold a valid Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments certificate and maintain accreditation through a Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services approved program such as ASHI or CAP. Capable vendors, particularly Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses, Veteran-Owned Small Businesses, and other small businesses registered under NAICS code 621511, must submit electronic capability statements to Gordon Burns at gordon.burns@va.gov by 1:00 PM EST on September 16, 2026.
