Custom OptoMech (C-OM) with Dual-Comb Spectroscopy (DCS) laser system for the COSmIC Lab
Contract Opportunity Analysis
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration Shared Services Center intends to procure a Custom OptoMech with Dual-Comb Spectroscopy laser system for the Cosmic Simulation Lab. The contractor must deliver a SmartComb system and an M-NIR Extension integrated into the cosmic chamber to generate high-accuracy absorption data for exoplanetary molecules in the 1-2 micrometer range. Technical specifications include a 250 MHz comb mode spacing, a 1560 nm center wavelength, an average power exceeding 10 mW, and an extension providing a spectral range of 1050 nm to 2100 nm. NASA intends to award a sole source contract to Menlo Systems, Inc. for performance at the Ames Research Center, but interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to Monica Wilson at monica.d.wilson@nasa.gov by July 15, 2026.
