Request for Information: Graphene Production and Manufacturing
Contract Opportunity Analysis
The Department of Defense’s Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, through its Tactical Technology Office, is seeking information on graphene production and manufacturing for potential use in load-bearing aerospace structures. The request focuses on the current state and future potential of graphene, including sheet size, manufacturing scalability, possible roles in structural design as a main material, additive, or composite layer, and supporting test data. DARPA is looking for data-backed information on estimated weight and cost reductions compared with traditional materials and is not interested in graphene modeling, unsupported theoretical claims, sensor applications unless tied to load-bearing structures, or carbon nanotube materials. Responses are for market research and program planning only, must be submitted as concise white papers no longer than five pages and sent electronically, and are due June 1, 2026 at 4:00 PM ET to DARPA-SN-26-62@darpa.mil.
