Houston Ship Channel – House Tract Placement Area Improvement

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District, has issued a Sources Sought Synopsis (W912HY26X1AW0) for the Houston Ship Channel – House Tract Placement Area Improvement project. This is a preliminary planning notice, not a request for proposal, seeking information from interested industry members, including various small business categories. The project involves a 3-foot dike raise on the northern half of the placement area and rehabilitation of the existing drop outlet structure, with an option for a similar dike raise on the southern half and dewatering. The estimated construction cost ranges from $10,000,000 to $25,000,000. The period of performance is 240 calendar days for Schedule 1 and an additional 150 calendar days for Option 1. Respondents must demonstrate experience in dredged material placement area construction as a prime contractor, possess adequate bonding capacity, and comply with safety regulations.
