Northern Hills Ranger District Parking Lot Reconstruction, Spearfish, South Dakota
Contract Opportunity Analysis
The USDA Forest Service’s Northern Hills Ranger District is seeking a contractor to reconstruct the parking lot at its Spearfish, South Dakota site to address structural, grading, and drainage problems. The work includes removing and replacing existing paving and site elements, regrading the area, installing proper base materials and new asphalt and concrete pavement, and adding sidewalks, accessible parking, fencing, gates, drainage improvements, and site lighting. The project is driven by poor existing sub-base conditions, clay-rich soils, frost-related damage, and recommended earthwork and pavement design considerations, with the work planned for the Spearfish location and a period of performance running from June 15, 2026, through December 11, 2026. Quotes are due June 4, 2026, at 10:00 MDT, a site visit is scheduled for May 6, 2026, at 1:00 PM MST, and offerors must acknowledge all amendments; the DWG files referenced in Amendment 0004 must be requested directly from Holly Hlavac at Holly.Hlavac@usda.gov.
