Optical Frequency Combs
Contract Opportunity Analysis
The National Institute of Standards and Technology is seeking firm-fixed-price quotations to procure optical frequency comb systems to support the Physical Measurement Laboratory's Time and Frequency Division Neutral Atom Optical Clocks Group. The contractor must deliver one primary system and potentially two optional systems designed to stabilize various laser wavelengths used in an ytterbium optical clock. Both configurations require turnkey, rack-mountable systems capable of continuous operation for multiple weeks with a repetition rate of 200 MHz or greater, high-speed modulation, and built-in f_CEO stabilization. Performance will be evaluated on a Lowest Price Technically Acceptable basis, with delivery, installation, and training completed at the Boulder, Colorado facility within six to eight months after receipt of order. Quoters must submit final signed and dated quotations to Lisa Stevens and Angela Hitt via email by 11:00 AM Mountain Time on August 25, 2026.
