This Statement of Work outlines the modification of NASA-owned Gyro-Stabilized Systems (GSS) C512 and C516 gimbals for the NASA Exploration Ground Systems (EGS) and Orion programs. The objective is to integrate NASA-owned FLIR Boson cameras into these systems to enable infrared spacecraft spotting during Artemis missions' Landing and Recovery. The contractor, GSS, will design, fabricate, integrate, balance, and test new hardware to achieve this. Key requirements include providing live FLIR Boson video output, enabling camera adjustments for bore-sighting, and incorporating a protective cover (snout) that doesn't impede optical performance. The design must allow for camera roll adjustments when the snout is removed and roll lockouts when installed. The integrated FLIR Boson system and its hardware must be removable, ensuring the visual camera system remains operational and balanced with the original snout. Initial hardware delivery is expected by April 10, 2026, with final glass delivery by April 30, 2026, at the NASA John F. Kennedy Space Center.
