The United States Department of Agriculture, Forest Service, is undertaking the Kamas Bunkhouses Existing Conditions project in Summit County, Utah. This project involves renovations and upgrades to four bunkhouses: West House, East House, North House, and South House. The scope of work for all buildings includes repairing and painting interior surfaces, repairing and painting interior doors, replacing all exterior doors with electronic keypad entry locks, replacing air vents, grills, and cold air returns, replacing all light fixtures and ceiling fans with LED lights, installing or replacing exhaust fans in restrooms, inspecting and updating electrical outlets and switches, inspecting and replacing smoke and CO detectors, installing horizontal lift blinds, and servicing all water heaters and furnaces. Specific to each house, the project includes: West House: replacing windows, installing LVT flooring in the entryway, replacing carpet in bedrooms and living room, relocating the water heater, replacing all water lines with Pex piping, re-tiling the west bathroom floor and installing a new toilet, demolishing and rebuilding the east bathroom, re-routing dryer exhaust, moving furnace exhaust, constructing linen shelving, replacing cabinet hinges, door glides, and handles, deep cleaning and refinishing cabinetry, and replacing the rear concrete porch. East House: repairing and resurfacing hardwood floors in the living room, deep cleaning, repairing, and refinishing cabinetry, rebuilding the basement staircase, removing and repairing cold air returns, replacing flooring with LVT in various areas, replacing carpet in bedrooms, replacing fireplace bricks, cleaning and repointing masonry, resurfacing the mantel, and installing ceramic tile in bathrooms with new fixtures. North House: installing a new insulated garage door system, replacing fireplace bricks, cleaning and repointing masonry, replacing the mantel, reglazing the bathtub, replacing baseboards and trim boards with PVC, replacing concrete sidewalks, and deep cleaning and refinishing all cabinetry and drawers. South House: replacing windows, replacing baseboards and trim boards with PVC, replacing front room carpet, refinishing hardwood flooring in the entryway and hallway, installing a new insulated garage door system, repainting the backyard shed, and replacing exterior concrete under the garage door, at the rear exterior door, and the front porch and sidewalk, along with grading for drainage.
