Vandenberg Structural Engineering Study, SLC-3 Tower
Contract Opportunity Analysis
The U.S. Space Force, via the 30th Contracting Squadron at Vandenberg Space Force Base, is seeking a contractor to conduct a third-party structural engineering study and code-compliance evaluation of the 156-foot SLC-3 Tower. The selected contractor must perform an accelerated field investigation, visual observations, non-destructive testing at a baseline of twenty-four locations, and a rigorous structural analysis to evaluate seismic and wind loading capacities. To ensure unbiased results, the contractor cannot be affiliated with the incumbent Launch Operations Support Contract provider, and key personnel must include a California-licensed Structural Engineer and certified tower climbing inspectors. Proposals will be evaluated on a lowest-priced technically acceptable basis, and final quotes are due electronically by September 17, 2026, at 12:00 PM PST.
