NavSUP Weapon Systems Support, Mechanicsburg, for the Department of the Navy is soliciting a self-locking socket head cap screw for use in a critical shipboard system. The requirement is for the item identified to Vacco drawing S1E10206, Item 30, with the contractor providing the fastener and the associated traceability, certification, and quality documentation. This is designated Special Emphasis material within the Level I and Scope of Certification boundaries, and the work carries detailed material, inspection, and testing requirements including quantitative chemical and mechanical analysis, liquid penetrant inspection certification, thread inspection, and controls on nonmetallic materials for toxicity and flammability. Certification data must be submitted through WAWF for Portsmouth Naval Shipyard review and acceptance before each shipment, no material may ship before acceptance, and final delivery is due within 365 days after the effective date of the resulting contract.
