Contract Opportunity Analysis

The Department of Energy's Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory is conducting market research to identify qualified sources capable of providing and installing a custom high-vacuum e-beam evaporation system for the Advanced Light Source Division. The selected contractor must design and deliver a thin-film deposition system featuring a nominal throw distance of approximately 1.0 meter, a dedicated substrate load-lock assembly, and an in-situ motorized tilting stage. Technical requirements dictate the system must fit within dimensions of 8 feet by 7 feet by 7.5 feet, support dual ion beam capabilities, and adhere to power constraints of 208V three-phase and 100A. Interested vendors must email product literature, technical specifications, and the country of manufacture to Procurement Representative Karen Tays at kktays@lbl.gov by 5:00 p.m. Pacific on September 25, 2026.
