Contract Opportunity Analysis
The National Institutes of Health intends to award a non-competitive, firm-fixed-price contract to Metabolon Inc. to conduct a plasma metabolon assay for the Baltimore Longitudinal Study of Aging. Under this agreement, the contractor will assay global metabolomics and short-chain fatty acids from 369 government-provided blood samples to identify metabolomic signatures of anthropometric aging. To ensure data compatibility with previous studies, the contractor must utilize the specialized Metabolon platform, provide a highly experienced research team, and deliver a comprehensive data report with raw and processed abundance data for over 1,000 metabolites. The work will be executed over a one-year period of performance, and the National Institute on Aging will retain unlimited rights and ownership of all resulting data. Electronic responses to this notice must be submitted to Program Specialist John Johnson at johnsonjr@mail.nih.gov by September 23, 2026, at 2:00 PM EST.
