The Alcon LenSx system is required due to its proprietary technical capabilities, including OCT-guided OnAxis astigmatism management, permanent capsular toric marking, the SoftFit hydrogel patient interface, and seamless interoperability with the facility's existing Alcon ARGOS and VERION surgical ecosystem. Market research confirmed that alternative platforms cannot meet these specific clinical safety and workflow integration requirements. An earlier solicitation was canceled due to revised technical specifications, leading to this sole-source justification.
