Contract Opportunity Analysis
The Department of the Navy, Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division, is seeking a contractor to procure a Radiological Detection System (RDS) Neutron Probe Training Device and corresponding simulated sources. The selected contractor must deliver one simulated RDS Neutron Probe compatible with an instructor control system, along with either a dedicated RDS Base Unit Training Device or a government-furnished base unit. Key technical requirements include wireless monitoring capabilities, realistic radioactive source simulation, adherence to physical and electromagnetic standards such as MIL-STD-464D, and the delivery of test inspection reports and commercial off-the-shelf manuals. The procurement will result in a firm-fixed-price purchase order with a 15-month period of performance, and proposals will be evaluated using the Lowest Price Technically Acceptable source selection process.
