Contract Opportunity Analysis

The Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration intends to award a sole-source purchase order to Veolia ES Technical Solutions LLC for the destruction of unwanted pharmaceutical waste collected during the National Drug Take Back Day. The contractor will be required to unload and incinerate approximately 40,000 pounds of controlled and non-controlled prescription and non-prescription drugs under continuous agency supervision. Performance will take place at the contractor's facility in Sauget, Illinois, with the destruction process completed within a four-to-six-hour window upon delivery, and all contractor personnel must adhere to strict security, conduct, and background check requirements. Although this is an informational notice for a sole-source award, alternative vendors capable of meeting these environmental and security requirements may submit capability statements to Jose Marin via email at jose.l.marin@dea.gov by September 14, 2026, at 10:00 AM EST.
