Laboratory Mining Equipment

The Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, is seeking specialized laboratory mining equipment to support the Pittsburgh Mining Research Division's ongoing rock-mechanics and ground-control research. To ensure consistent preparation and testing of geological specimens, the contractor must deliver a complete rock-specimen cutting system, a computerized grinding machine, a creep test apparatus, and a triaxial testing machine. This specialized equipment will reduce specimen preparation labor, provide essential time-dependent rock-property data, and determine cohesion and friction angle parameters for specimens collected from mine sites. All equipment must be delivered to the Pittsburgh Mining Research Division facility in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, within the established period of performance.
