Retinal Ophthalmology Services for the Lawton Indian Hospital

This Sources Sought Notice (ID IHS1520483) is issued by the Indian Health Service (IHS) Oklahoma City Area Office to identify qualified Indian Small Business Economic Enterprises (ISBEEs) capable of providing Retinal Ophthalmology Services for the Lawton Indian Hospital in Lawton, Oklahoma. Pursuant to the Buy Indian Act, the IHS intends to give procurement preference to eligible Indian Economic Enterprises. The selected contractor will provide comprehensive ophthalmology care, including intravitreal injections, laser treatments, and pre- and post-treatment evaluations for eligible IHS beneficiaries. The required level of effort includes conducting a retinal consultation and treatment clinic at least once per month (for 4 to 16 hours), with an expected volume of approximately 30 patient consultations, 5 laser treatments, and 10 injections per clinic day. Lawton Indian Hospital will provide the necessary facility space, support staff, and laser equipment, and will retain all third-party billing revenues. Contractor physicians must be board-certified or board-eligible in ophthalmologic medicine, hold an unrestricted U.S. medical license, and possess a current DEA license. Additionally, candidates must undergo federal background screenings, meet health immunization requirements, and maintain professional liability insurance of $1 million per occurrence and $3 million aggregate. The resulting contract will feature a 12-month base period with four 12-month option years.
