Contract Opportunity Analysis
The U.S. Geological Survey California Water Science Center is seeking a commercial laboratory to perform molecular analysis on biological samples. The selected contractor will conduct DNA and RNA extraction, droplet digital PCR, and reverse transcription droplet digital PCR analyses on up to 50 benthic cyanobacterial mat samples to target the anatoxin synthetase gene. Core requirements include strict chain-of-custody documentation, quality control monitoring, and electronic data reporting, with a period of performance running from July 21, 2026, through September 30, 2027. Quotes will be evaluated based on Technical Capability, Relevant Experience, Quality Control and Data Reporting, Schedule/Capacity, and Price, with non-price factors being significantly more important.
