Contract Opportunity Analysis
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region 9 Contracting Office, is seeking industry feedback via a Request for Information on a draft solicitation for the Navajo Area Abandoned Mines Response and Construction Services II contract. The selected contractor will provide cleanup, response, and construction services primarily at former uranium mining-related sites on or within the Navajo Nation across Arizona and New Mexico. Work requirements demand a significant knowledge base in radiological material handling, environmental data interpretation, and data collection, alongside the ability to operate in rough terrain, scarce water conditions, and extreme weather. This presolicitation is a total small business set-aside with an anticipated single-award Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract, and comments must be submitted to primary contact Wanda Hill at hill.wanda@epa.gov prior to the anticipated formal request for proposal release in Fall 2026.
