Contract Opportunity Analysis
The Department of the Navy, on behalf of the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility, is seeking a contractor to provide annual, on-site preventive maintenance and calibration services for laboratory balances and weighing devices. Work requirements include cleaning, leveling, functional testing, and calibrating up to 25 devices to manufacturer specifications using certified calibration masses, as well as providing accredited calibration certificates to maintain the laboratory's ISO 17025:2017 accreditation. Contractors must maintain their own current ISO 17025:2017 accreditation, possess manufacturer-approved training to service specific models from brands such as Mettler Toledo, Sartorius, and Alfa Mirage, and satisfy security requirements for shipyard access. The contract structure consists of a base year from September 21, 2026, to September 20, 2027, with four consecutive one-year option periods, and proposals are due via email to Kenny Vilayvong and Jacqueline Edgerton by September 15, 2026, at 9:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time.
