The Department of the Navy, NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support Mechanicsburg, is seeking sources to manufacture and deliver seat assemblies used in shipboard 5-inch ball valves. The contractor must supply 29 units of the seal assembly, which consists of a guide seal, a seal made from Teflon-filled acetal Delrin, and a seal retainer ring in accordance with Newport News drawing 2285-306. Because this hardware is designated as special emphasis material for crucial shipboard systems, the contractor must maintain a qualified ISO-9001 quality system, establish strict material traceability, and perform government source inspection. Proposals must be submitted to Robert H. Langel at robert.h.langel.civ@us.navy.mil, and the requested delivery schedule for the completed assemblies is 540 days.
