CHIPS R&D Beamline Residual Gas Analyzer – Combined Sources Sought/Notice of Intent to Sole Source
Contract Opportunity Analysis
The National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Physical Measurements Laboratory is seeking market information for Beamline Residual Gas Analyzers to support the CHIPS R&D work at the SURF III synchrotron facility and, if no alternate sources are identified, intends to proceed with a sole source award to Newport Corp. The requirement is for five UHV-compatible RGAs that can measure residual gas composition and high-mass species for beamline vacuum cleanliness, with the goal of protecting the accelerator, beamlines, and EUV optics. The analyzers must meet or exceed specified technical features including a 1 to 200 amu or greater mass range, double quadrupole mass filtering, dual Faraday and electron multiplier detection, thoria filament, Ethernet connectivity, and Windows-compatible control and data software. NIST is asking respondents to email capability and market research information, including authorization status, relevant contracts, NAICS information, small-business status, and any concerns about restrictive requirements, and questions are to be submitted within five days of the notice’s initial posting.
