NIST Boulder Solar Lighting Upper Site Replacement
Contract Opportunity Analysis
The National Institute of Standards and Technology seeks a qualified Design-Build Entity to replace aging, solar-powered exterior pole luminaires with new, hard-wired LED pole luminaires at its campus in Boulder, Colorado. The contractor is responsible for the demolition of existing solar systems, design and installation of new pole bases and LED luminaires, structural designs stamped by a licensed Colorado Professional Engineer, and installation of new electrical circuits originating from nearby building panelboards. The overall scope of work consists of one base item and seven optional replacement areas, and all work must comply with National Electrical Code, Buy American Act, and NIST site standards. The anticipated period of performance is 365 days, and contractors must coordinate electrical shutdowns with an eight-week advance notice. Proposals are due by 5:00 PM on August 12, 2026, and must be submitted to Lauren Lopez and Shawn Borisow via email.
