Sources Sought for 15kV Pad-mounted Switchgear

The Department of Defense, specifically the Department of the Navy, through the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command, Hawaii (NAVFAC Hawaii), is seeking sources for a 15kV pad-mounted switchgear. This switchgear is typically used for underground distribution and is an essential component in electrical control equipment.

The Government is conducting market research to determine if there are other potential products or services that can meet the agency's requirements. The desired switchgear should have equal performance and listing/approval requirements as the Eaton VFI underground distribution switchgear, manufactured by Eaton.

The switchgear must meet specific requirements and specifications, including a switch design with operating handles on the opposite side of the tank from the cable entrance bushings, terminations, and cables. It should also have high fire point liquid insulation technology, vacuum bottle interruption technology, dead front construction with stainless steel tanks, and operator full-size viewing windows for each switching way. Additionally, it should be a 4-way unit.

Interested parties with a comparable product meeting the requirements are invited to submit complete technical data, information, and specifications for evaluation. The submission should include company information and a point of contact.

Please note that this notice is for market research purposes only and does not commit the U.S. Government to issue a solicitation or award a contract. The Government will not reimburse any costs associated with information submitted in response to this notice.

Interested parties should submit their information and specifications to Kimberlee Fujimoto, Contracting Officer, and Tiare McClellan, Contract Specialist, by Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. Hawaii Standard Time.
